12.066 million passenger trips: Guangzhou Metro sets third-highest historical passenger volume this year

On the day before the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the metro network's passenger volume once again exceeded 12 million, reaching 12.066 million trips, the third-highest historical passenger volume for 2026. Compared with 11.681 million trips on September 30, 2025, this represents a 3.3% increase. In addition, the six intercity railways under Guangzhou Metro carried a total of 310,000 passengers that day, with multiple intercity railways setting new passenger flow records. It is reported that the single metro station with the highest passenger volume under Guangzhou Metro was Tiyu Xilu Station with 453,000 trips, followed by Jiahewanggang Station with 439,000 trips and Zhujiang New Town Station with 246,000 trips.
