According to Reuters, Solidigm, the U.S. solid-state storage subsidiary of SK Hynix (SKHY.O), is considering an initial public offering as early as next year that could value it at $150 billion. People familiar with the matter said Solidigm held IPO underwriting pitch meetings with several investment banks this week and could raise about $15 billion through a listing. However, the size and timing of the IPO are still at an early stage of discussion and may be adjusted based on market conditions. Solidigm is headquartered in California, USA, and is the NAND flash and solid-state drive business unit of SK Hynix. SK Hynix acquired Intel's NAND flash and SSD business for about $9 billion in 2020 and established Solidigm in 2021. Solidigm mainly supplies enterprise-grade SSD products to servers, cloud computing, and data centers, with a focus on the high-capacity storage market required for AI applications. If listed, its valuation would far exceed recent semiconductor IPO cases, including Arm (ARM.O), which was valued at about $54 billion when it listed in 2023, and Cerebras, which had an IPO valuation of about $56 billion in 2026.
