Musk plans to double the number of Nvidia chips in Colossus 2 by the end of the year.

Elon Musk said that xAI's AI computing cluster, Colossus 2, could have more than double the number of Nvidia chips by the end of the year compared with now. The billionaire provided his most detailed timeline to date for the expansion of the cluster in the Memphis area, as he races to scale up AI computing capacity. In a post on X, Musk said Colossus 2 currently has 110,000 Nvidia GB200 chips and 440,000 GB300 chips. He said another 220,000 GB300 chips will be put into operation next week, with an additional 220,000 chips expected to come online in November. He added that if "lucky enough," another 220,000 chips could come online in late December.
