U.S. stocks opened higher and extended gains, with all three major indexes closing up. The Nasdaq rose 2.26%, the S&P 500 gained 1.49%, and the Dow added 0.71%. Semiconductor chip stocks surged, with ARM up over 17%, Intel up more than 12%, Meta up over 11%, and AMD and Qualcomm up more than 9%. Among them, AMD hit a new high, with its market capitalization surpassing $1 trillion for the first time, becoming the fourth U.S. chip company to join the "trillion-dollar club."
