Foreign investors sold Indian index-eligible bonds worth 47.3 billion rupees last Friday, the largest single-day sell-off since April 2025. Data from Clearing Corporation of India show that foreign investors cumulatively sold 57.1 billion rupees of index bonds in the week ended September 11, marking the largest weekly outflow in more than five months. The sell-off came amid concerns that rising crude oil prices could intensify inflationary pressure and prompt the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates, pushing global bond yields higher.
