Shanghai M&A Fund Phase III Officially Launched, with Guotai Haitong's Private Equity Subsidiary Serving as Fund Manager
Recently, Shanghai M&A Private Equity Fund Phase III Partnership completed filing with the Asset Management Association of China and officially commenced investment operations. The first close of Shanghai M&A Fund Phase III was at RMB 900 million, with the private equity subsidiary of Guotai Haitong serving as the fund manager, jointly initiated and established with large industrial groups, listed companies, financial institutions, and others. It primarily focuses on M&A and other equity investment opportunities in industries supported by national policies, such as high-end manufacturing, integrated circuits, new materials, new energy, and information technology. Shanghai M&A Fund was approved for establishment by the Shanghai Municipal Government in 2014 and is the only M&A fund with "Shanghai M&A" in its name. It is dedicated to leveraging the functional role of M&A funds in facilitating industrial integration and upgrading and strengthening and supplementing supply chains, serving national strategies and the construction of Shanghai's "Five Centers." Shanghai M&A Fund has successfully launched three phases, with cumulative investment scale exceeding RMB 5 billion, and has led and participated in multiple M&A and restructuring projects with market influence.
