China National Nuclear Corporation signs cooperation agreement with IAEA in the field of high-temperature gas-cooled reactors.

According to CNNC, on September 14 local time, on the opening day of the 70th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, a China exhibition themed "Small Reactors and Comprehensive Utilization of Nuclear Energy" opened concurrently. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, Director of the China Atomic Energy Authority Shan Zhongde, Chinese Ambassador for Disarmament Affairs and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Vienna and other international organizations Li Song, and CNNC General Manager Zhang Tao jointly visited the exhibition and witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement in the high-temperature gas-cooled reactor field between China Nuclear Energy and the IAEA. Under the cooperation agreement signed by China Nuclear Energy and the IAEA in the high-temperature reactor field, the two sides agreed to carry out exchanges and cooperation in areas including the research and development, design, construction, commissioning, and operation of high-temperature gas-cooled reactor nuclear power plants, as well as the supply chain and talent cultivation. This means that the world can share China's engineering practice experience in high-temperature gas-cooled reactors, which will further help promote high-temperature gas-cooled reactors globally in low-carbon scenarios such as nuclear power generation, industrial heat supply, and hydrogen production.
