Oman calls for opening alternative LNG transportation routes that can bypass the Strait of Hormuz

Months of conflict in the Persian Gulf region have continued to disrupt shipping, and Oman's energy minister said at a major conference of natural gas producers and traders that alternative routes need to be opened so that LNG shipments can bypass the Strait of Hormuz. Oman's Minister of Energy and Minerals Salim Al Aufi said on Monday at the International Gas Technology Conference in Bangkok: "We should find other export options. Whether it is shipping north, or through Oman and Yemen. We need to diversify the channels for getting resources out."
