The flood peak of the Xianghe River in the Qianjiao section has passed, and the water level is currently receding.
Due to the recent continuous rainfall and inflow from upstream, the water level of the Xiang River, a tributary of the Chu River, in the whole Qiao section of Chuzhou, Anhui, rose rapidly at one point. At 8:36 AM yesterday, the hydrological station at the Xiang Rivermouth Gate recorded a peak water level of 12.77 meters, exceeding the warning level by 1.77 meters. Subsequently, the water level began to gradually recede. By 6:00 AM this morning, the water level at the Xiang Rivermouth Gate had dropped to 12.14 meters, and the trend of decline was stable. According to weather forecasts, the weather in Qiao County will primarily be overcast to partly cloudy over the next week, with no significant precipitation expected. Currently, various efforts such as river reinforcement and dam patrols are still ongoing in Qiao County.
