Harvard Universitys investment management organization has disclosed its holdings of SpaceX stocks valued at $2.2 billion. This institution invested in Elon Musks rocket company in its early years and has reaped substantial returns following SpaceXs significant IPO. On Friday, Harvard Management Company revealed this position in regulatory filing documents. In its $4.3 billion U.S. equity portfolio, SpaceX has become the single largest holding by market value. This investment reflects how SpaceXs record-setting IPO in June has brought generous returns to various university endowment funds. Many university endowments laid out their investments in this company through venture capital channels more than a decade ago. According to the latest public data, as of June 2025, Harvard Management Company manages approximately $57 billion in assets. Harvard is not the only beneficiary of SpaceXs entry into the public market. The investment arm of the University of California disclosed this week that it holds about $1 billion in SpaceX stocks; the University of North Carolina and Washington University in St. Louis also hold investments in the company.
