The second large-scale drill and counter-terrorism and major accident exercise were held in the ports area of Huanggang Port.

The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region held its second large-scale drill today at the Hong Kong side of the Huanggang Port, conducting inter-departmental anti-terrorism and major incident exercises to further test the overall management of pedestrian and vehicle flow at the joint inspection building and public transportation interchange, as well as to enhance the responsiveness of various departments in the face of emergencies. The drill mobilized over 5,000 civil servants from approximately 30 policy bureaus and departments. Following instructions, they took different public transport modes to arrive at the port, then proceeded to the departure and arrival halls of the joint inspection building, before taking public transport to leave the port. Participants performed over 250 rounds of operational testing with vehicles dispatched by public transport operators to simulate the flow of people and vehicles into and out of the port. Secretary for Security Chris Tang visited the site for inspection and held a meeting with representatives from participating departments after the drill to review the processes and the feedback from participants, aiming to optimize subsequent exercises.
