The two departments will elevate Jiangsu's flood prevention emergency response from level four to level three.
Due to the combined effects of this year's No. 13 typhoon "White Dolphin" and recent heavy rainfall, significant flooding has occurred in the Taihu Lake basin. It is predicted that the water levels in Taihu Lake will continue to rise slowly in the later stage. From August 15 to 16, there will be heavy rain in some areas of eastern and southern Zhejiang, with localized torrential downpours. In accordance with the "National Flood Control and Drought Relief Emergency Plan" and relevant regulations, the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters and the Ministry of Emergency Management decided to upgrade the flood control emergency response for Jiangsu from Level 4 to Level 3 at 12:00 on August 15 and to initiate a Level 4 flood control emergency response for Zhejiang.
