A landslide in western Nepal has resulted in 10 deaths and 2 missing persons.

On the 13th, the police in Rukum District, western Nepal reported that a landslide triggered by continuous heavy rainfall has resulted in 10 deaths, with 2 people still missing. The report stated that the landslide occurred on the evening of the 12th in a remote hilly area of Rukum District, where a small village was nearly flattened. Local police spokesperson Shrestha told Xinhua News Agency that rescuers found 5 bodies at the landslide site, and another 5 bodies were discovered several kilometers away in Baitadi District. The police indicated that search and rescue operations are still ongoing, but face significant challenges due to the remote location of the affected area.
