Heatwave Hits, Champagne Region of France Welcomes Earliest Grape Harvest Season in History
On August 12, officials from the French Champagne Industry Association stated that the consecutive extreme heat waves have accelerated the ripening process of the grapes, leading to the earliest grape harvest season in the history of the Champagne region in France. David Chatterton, co-president of the French Champagne Industry Association, has officially announced the official grape harvest dates. The start of the harvest varies by region and grape variety, ranging from August 8 to August 22. Prior to this, harvesting is prohibited without special permission.
