According to sources cited by Reuters, Google's (GOOG.O) parent company Alphabet is undergoing a major leadership restructuring at Google DeepMind, with some teams transferring from DeepMind to Google's corporate structure, further diminishing DeepMind's autonomy. Sources say that Google's co-founder Sergey Brin has encouraged core AI employees in recent months to "fully commit" to the Gemini model and to push forward with AI directions such as "recursive self-improvement."
