China's newly appointed ambassador to Sri Lanka, Wei Huaxiang, arrives in Sri Lanka to assume office.

On August 11, Wei Huaxiang, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, arrived in Sri Lanka to take up his post.
