On August 8 local time, the latest data from Chad's Ministry of Health showed that the country has reported a total of 239 confirmed cases of cholera since mid-June, with 13 deaths and a case fatality rate of 5.4%. This outbreak initially occurred in Karal town in the Hadjer-Lamis province, and spread to the capital N'Djamena in mid-July, with officials officially announcing the cholera outbreak on July 24. Karal town remains the core area of the outbreak.
