On August 7, the website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China and the National Supervisory Commission reported, according to the Qinghai Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervisory Commission: With the approval of the Qinghai Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Qinghai Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervisory Commission has initiated an examination and investigation into former Deputy Director Liu Yunzhou of the Management Committee of the Economic and Technological Development Zone in Xining, Qinghai Province, for serious violations of discipline and law. Upon investigation, it was found that Liu Yunzhou had lost his ideals and beliefs, betrayed his original mission, failed to effectively fulfill the main responsibility of strict party governance, had a misaligned view of political achievements, was impatient for quick success, and tolerated and condoned enterprises' illegal construction. He disregarded the spirit of the Central Eight Regulations, illegally accepted gifts and cash gifts; ignored organizational principles, and made personal decisions on major matters. He transformed the public power entrusted to him by the Party and the people into a tool for personal gain, using his position to facilitate benefits for others in project contracting, corporate operations, etc., and illegally accepted huge amounts of property. Liu Yunzhou seriously violated the Party's political discipline, organizational discipline, and integrity discipline, constituting severe job-related illegal activities and suspected bribery, and he has shown no restraint or stopped his misconduct after the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party. The nature of his offenses is serious, and the impact is adverse, warranting severe punishment. In accordance with the "Regulations on Disciplinary Punishments of the Communist Party of China," "Supervisory Law of the People's Republic of China," "Administrative Sanctions Law for Public Officials of the People's Republic of China," and other relevant provisions, the Standing Committee of the Qinghai Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection studied this matter and reported it to the Qinghai Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China for approval, deciding to expel Liu Yunzhou from the Party; in accordance with regulations, cancel the benefits he enjoyed; confiscate his illegal gains; and transfer his suspected criminal issues to the judicial authorities for examination and prosecution, along with the involved property.
