Samsung Electronics and Netlist have reached a licensing agreement to resolve their patent dispute.

U.S. chip company Netlist announced on Thursday that it has reached a five-year agreement with Samsung Electronics to license Netlist's memory chip patents, thereby resolving a protracted patent dispute between the two companies. Under the agreement, Samsung Electronics will gain access to Netlist's patent portfolio, which includes server dual in-line memory modules for artificial intelligence servers and high-performance computing systems, as well as high bandwidth memory-related technologies. As part of this strategic alliance, Samsung will also acquire 10 million shares of Netlist based on a separate supply agreement for memory products. The two companies have agreed to settle and mutually terminate all outstanding legal actions related to the patent dispute. This agreement marks the end of years of patent litigation between the two companies.
