The China Meteorological Administration held a press conference, during which it released the national weather and climate characteristics for July, as well as the climate trend forecast and meteorological service tips for August. In terms of precipitation: the northeastern region, eastern North China, most of East China, southern Central China, South China, the southern part of the southwestern region, western Tibet, and western Xinjiang are expected to receive more rainfall than the same period in previous years, while the remaining regions of the country are expected to have precipitation close to or slightly less than the same period in previous years. There are forecasted to be six significant precipitation events, occurring during the periods of August 36, August 810, August 1215, August 1821, August 2425, and August 3031. In terms of temperature: most areas of the country are expected to experience temperatures higher than the same period in previous years, with regions such as central and western Inner Mongolia, Beijing, Tianjin, central and western Hebei, Shanxi, Shandong, northern Jiangsu, northern Anhui, Henan, central and western Hubei, central and northern Sichuan, Chongqing, central and northern Tibet, Qinghai, Gansu, Ningxia, Shaanxi, and Xinjiang expected to see temperatures 1 to 2 higher. It is anticipated that there will be four significant high-temperature events affecting the country, occurring during the periods of August 79, August 1114, August 2225, and August 2931. In terms of typhoons: 6 to 7 typhoons are expected to form in the northwestern Pacific and South China Sea, which is more than the same period in previous years; 2 to 3 typhoons are expected to make landfall or significantly affect China, which is close to the same period in previous years; the overall intensity is expected to be stronger, with risks of strong typhoons moving northward to impact northern regions of China.
