In July, the number of online contracts increased by 9.8% year-on-year, showing that the second-hand housing market in Beijing is not experiencing a typical off-season.
Although July is traditionally a slow season for the real estate market, the second-hand housing market in Beijing has not shown a significant decline. Data from the Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development shows that the net signings of second-hand residential properties in the month exceeded 14,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 9.8%. Looking at a longer period, the cumulative transaction volume from January to July reached 107,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 6%, marking a new high for the same period in nearly five years. The monthly transaction volume has maintained year-on-year growth for five consecutive months since March. Industry insiders believe that the transaction activity is expected to remain relatively active in the second half of the year, but further stabilization still relies on the continuous improvement of multiple factors.
