According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, a magnitude 4.8 earthquake occurred in Gao County, Yibin City, Sichuan Province, at 2:21 a.m. on August 3, 2026, with a depth of 6 kilometers. Following the earthquake, the China Earthquake Administration quickly activated a Level 4 emergency response, coordinating the China Earthquake Networks Center and the Sichuan Provincial Earthquake Bureau to carry out emergency response actions. Relevant units were instructed to conduct joint consultations, enhance earthquake monitoring, and evaluate post-earthquake trends, while promptly reporting relevant information. Currently, the Sichuan Provincial Earthquake Bureau has dispatched on-site work teams to the affected area to assist local governments in emergency response efforts.
