Shanghai Port's single-day container throughput exceeds 200,000 TEUs, setting a new record.

On the 2nd, reporters learned from Shanghai Port Group that the daily container throughput at Shanghai Port exceeded 200,000 TEUs on the 1st, reaching 203,881 TEUs, setting a new historical high. It is reported that the typhoon Bavi passed through in mid-July, impacting ship operations at Shanghai Port for about four days. A large number of vessels sought shelter and waited at the port, leading to tight berthing conditions and accumulation of container volumes, which posed challenges for terminal production organization, vessel dispatch, and yard turnover. In response to these challenges, Shanghai Port Group undertook comprehensive scheduling and actively responded with scientific measures, quickly facilitating the digestion of feeder vessels and restoring port capacity. During the subsequent recovery phase, the daily average container throughput at Shanghai Port stabilized at 172,000 TEUs, with production efficiency steadily increasing. On August 1, a new daily container throughput record was set at Shanghai Port, marking not only the result of continuous efforts made earlier but also serving as a new starting point for quality improvement and efficiency enhancement.
