The single-day container throughput at Shanghai Port has exceeded 200,000 TEUs, setting a new record.

On the 2nd, Shanghai International Port Group announced that the port's daily container throughput exceeded 200,000 TEUs on the 1st, reaching 203,900 TEUs, setting a new historical record. By 2025, the container throughput at Shanghai Port is projected to surpass 55.06 million TEUs, breaking another historical high and maintaining its position as the world's number one for 16 consecutive years, with significant enhancements in international transshipment capacity. Since the beginning of this year, the daily container throughput at Shanghai Port has continuously reached new highs. According to the recently released "14th Five-Year Plan for Accelerating the Construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center," Shanghai Port aims to play a leading role in the Yangtze River Delta port cluster, striving for an annual container throughput of over 58 million TEUs by 2030.
