The European Commission stated on the 23rd that Google prioritizes its own shopping, hotel, transportation, and sports services in its search results, making it difficult for third-party similar services to receive equal visibility, constituting "self-preferential treatment" for its own services. The statement also said that Google has failed to comply with the EU's Digital Markets Act, restricting app developers from informing users that they can purchase related services at lower prices through channels other than Google's app store, "Google Market," and hindering developers from guiding users to complete transactions outside of the "Google Market." Based on these two actions, the European Commission has decided to fine Google 8.9 billion euros, and at the same time, the EU requires Google to treat third-party services fairly and non-discriminatively in search results, and allow app developers to freely introduce and promote discounts, and facilitate transactions outside of the "Google Market." The European Commission stated that Google must complete the reform within 60 days, otherwise it will face additional fines.
