Ministry of Water Resources: Accelerate the construction of a modern hydrological monitoring and forecasting warning system.

On July 17th, Li Guoying, Secretary of the Party Group and Minister of the Ministry of Water Resources, presided over a departmental meeting to summarize the water conservancy work in the first half of 2026, deploy key tasks for the second half of the year, and discuss the promotion of hydrological monitoring and forecasting warning, reinforcement of dangerous and risky reservoirs, and the establishment of a river and lake census system. The meeting emphasized the need to accelerate the construction of a modern hydrological monitoring and forecasting warning system, strengthen the application of modern hydrological technology equipment, enhance all-weather, all-element, full-range, and online intelligent monitoring, improve the coverage rate of hydrological monitoring, the density of hydrological stations, and the rate of automatic hydrological monitoring, deepen the research and development and application of hydrological models, strengthen the functions of forecasting warning and scenario simulation, forming a complete monitoring, forecasting, and warning chain covering "clouds, rain, water", and encompassing "sky, ground, water, engineering".
