National Health Commission supports the rescue and treatment of injured individuals from the mountain collapse in Pengshui County, Chongqing.
On July 17 around 9:10 a.m., a mountain collapse occurred in Hanjia Street, Pengshui County, Chongqing, resulting in multiple people being buried and missing. On the same day, the National Health Commission quickly supported Chongqing in carrying out the rescue and psychological counseling of the injured. They immediately arranged for the National Emergency Medical Rescue Team and the Chongqing Emergency Medical Rescue Team to assemble, dispatched medical personnel and ambulances to the scene; sent relevant officials to guide the local medical treatment work, organized experts from Beijing Jishuitan Hospital in trauma, intensive care, and neurosurgery to work with local medical staff to form a medical treatment team, conduct multidisciplinary consultations, tailor treatment plans for each individual, and make every effort to save lives and reduce disability. Chongqing City was guided to send psychological experts to provide psychological counseling and guidance to the injured and their families. It is understood that the National Health Commission will continue to support Chongqing in providing medical treatment for the injured, and will send national-level experts as needed to reduce losses and protect lives.
