Typhoon "Meisak" has affected more than 2.6 million people in Guangxi.
Reporters learned on the 16th from the Emergency Management Department of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region that Typhoon "Maysak" has caused disasters in 78 counties in 14 cities in Guangxi, affecting more than 2.6 million people. The affected area of crops is 1.267 million hectares, with more than 900,000 livestock deaths, 729 houses collapsed, 1121 rooms destroyed, and 925 houses seriously damaged, with 1960 rooms. Basic work is shifting to resettlement of affected populations and infrastructure restoration, with a focus on ensuring the basic life security, services, and psychological counseling of 4516 people in 70 centralized resettlement locations. It is reported that all affected administrative villages have opened up lifeline channels to ensure the transportation of personnel and materials. There are still 2022 households without power, with restoration expected by 24:00 on July 18. In terms of communications, 7604 base stations were out of service, with 6967 restored, an approximate restoration rate of 91.62%. In rural water supply, repairs are ongoing for 301 disrupted water supply projects, aiming to restore emergency water supply by July 20.
