Mao Ning, Chief Engineer of the Environmental Resources Institute of the Planning Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport, stated at the second Electric Vehicle Integration and Smart Ecological Development Forum held today that it is necessary to increase policy support to promote the large-scale application of new energy heavy trucks, and to continue to implement the policy of scrapping and updating old operating trucks. It is important to fully utilize the special funds for energy conservation and carbon reduction in the central budget to support zero-carbon transportation channels. Currently, the Ministry of Transport has started the first batch of subsidy funds, and is actively planning for the second batch of subsidies for zero-carbon transport corridor projects. The core contents of the second batch, such as the construction mileage, participating provinces, subsidy scope and subsidy ratio, are all in the preliminary research and demonstration stage.
