The latest epidemic report released by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Congo on the 14th showed that the current Ebola epidemic in the country has accumulated a total of 2011 confirmed cases, with 754 deaths. The report stated that as of the 13th, the epidemic has spread to five provinces: Ituri, North Kivu, South Kivu, Upper Nile, and Jobo. Since the first report of Ebola cases in Upper Nile Province several days ago, the epidemic has further spread, with a total of 14 confirmed cases reported, including 13 deaths. The report believes that the appearance of new cases in the province indicates that the epidemic continues to expand, requiring immediate strengthening of monitoring, testing, and prevention in neighboring provinces. The report also showed that there are currently 753 patients under isolation or hospital treatment, with a total of 366 recovered cases. The occupancy rate of medical institutions in North Kivu Province has reached 120.6%, and the treatment capacity continues to be under pressure. The report also pointed out that some epidemic areas are close to the Uganda border, and the frequent flow of personnel has increased the risk of further spread of the epidemic.
