TSMC's 2-nanometer process is first adopted by Google, the new phone will be released in August, breaking Apple's usual first release tradition.
According to reports, TSMC has officially started mass production of 2-nanometer technology, marking the beginning of competition in the market for 2-nanometer processors for smartphones. Surprisingly, Google has secured the first launch qualification for a smartphone equipped with TSMC's 2-nanometer chip. The Pixel 11 series models, featuring the self-developed Tensor G6 processor, will be released in mid-August, one month earlier than Apple's new products. Flagship 2-nanometer chips from companies like Mediatek and Qualcomm are not expected to be revealed until after September. In the past, when TSMC introduced a new advanced technology, Apple was always the first customer to use it in their own mobile devices. This year, however, Google has broken this tradition and become the first customer for TSMC's 2-nanometer smartphone chip, sparking industry discussion. Industry analysts believe that regardless of which manufacturer first releases a 2-nanometer processor, once flagship smartphones widely use 2-nanometer chips, TSMC will be the biggest beneficiary.
