Midair Shock: A European passenger sucked out of the window after the window came off.
Europe's largest budget airline, Irish Ryanair, experienced an incident on the 10th when a Boeing aircraft flying from Greece to Germany had a window rupture and fall off a few minutes after takeoff, causing a passenger's upper body to be sucked out of the window before being pulled back in by surrounding passengers. The plane later returned to the airport in Greece, and the cause of the incident is still unclear. Boeing, among others, has stated that they will assist in the investigation. The aircraft was originally scheduled to fly from Thessaloniki, Greece to Memmingen, Germany by Ryanair subsidiary Malta Air operating a Boeing 737-800 model delivered to Ryanair in 2008. Ryanair released a statement saying that a window on the aircraft fell off during the flight, prompting its return to Thessaloniki.
