Key components offline, breakthrough in the development of large-capacity high-head impact units in China.

On June 30, a complete set of 6 nozzles for the impulse hydroelectric unit of the Datang Zara Hydropower Station independently developed by Dongfang Electric Group's Dongfang Motor Co., Ltd. was successfully produced, as well as a new impeller for the impulse hydroelectric unit of the Tiechanghe Hydropower Station. This marks a new breakthrough in China's high-head, large-capacity impulse hydroelectric unit field. The new impeller produced for the Tiechanghe Hydropower Station is a joint achievement of Dongfang Motor and Hydropower Seventh Bureau in overcoming the challenges of high head and high sediment conditions. The station has a rated head of 725 meters and a single unit capacity of 40 megawatts. The original imported impeller suffered severe wear and tear from sediment and high operation and maintenance costs, facing long-term equipment adaptation difficulties. The two parties established a "research and development-simulation-testing-application" closed-loop mechanism, innovatively adopting a new anti-abrasion solution for the water bucket, effectively addressing the pain points of rapid equipment wear and poor reliability in ultra-high-head, high-sediment power stations, and providing a replicable practical sample for the iterative upgrade of similar power station equipment.
