On June 27, 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology organized the formulation and centralized management of the mandatory national standard "Safety Requirements for Intelligent Connected Vehicles Combination Driving Assistance Systems", which was approved and released by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Standardization Management Committee. It is scheduled to be officially implemented on January 1, 2027. The release and implementation of the "Safety Requirements for Intelligent Connected Vehicles Combination Driving Assistance Systems" is of great significance in clarifying unified safety standards for combination driving assistance systems, enhancing the safety level of intelligent connected vehicles, and ensuring the healthy and sustainable development of the industry. In the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will conscientiously promote the implementation of the standards, strengthen the management of access to intelligent connected vehicle products, further clarify the safety responsibilities of enterprises, ensure the safe and compliant application of combination driving assistance systems, and accelerate the publication and implementation of other mandatory national standards for autonomous driving systems. This will promote the establishment of a comprehensive testing and regulatory system for intelligent connected vehicles, accelerate the industrialization of autonomous driving technology, and lead the high-quality development of China's intelligent connected vehicle industry.
