The national standard for energy consumption and energy efficiency of photovoltaic power generation has been released, which reinforces the bottom line for the green development of the photovoltaic industry.
From the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, it was learned that today, three mandatory national standards in the photovoltaic field have been formally approved and released. These standards establish rigid constraints on energy consumption and efficiency along the entire chain of silicon materials, silicon wafers, photovoltaic modules, and inverters, using standardized methods to improve the green control system of the photovoltaic industry chain and provide institutional support for the high-quality development of the new energy industry. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with the National Development and Reform Commission and the State Administration for Market Regulation, have issued three mandatory national standards for photovoltaic energy consumption and efficiency: "Energy Consumption Limit for Single Crystal Silicon Unit Products", "Efficiency Limit and Efficiency Level of Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Modules and Inverters", and "Energy Consumption Limit for Polycrystalline and Germanium Unit Products". These standards cover key links in the photovoltaic industry chain such as polycrystalline silicon, silicon wafers, modules, and inverters, setting energy consumption and efficiency indicators for various products in different grades to strictly control high-energy and low-efficiency production capacity in various links. In terms of modules, innovative evaluation indicators for coupling environment stress attenuation rate are included. It is understood that the three standards are interconnected and work together, not only raising the green access threshold for photovoltaic products and promoting the transformation and upgrading of the photovoltaic industry, but also unifying the calculation rules for energy consumption and efficiency along the entire chain, promoting the greening of this green energy source. Next, relevant industry organizations will accelerate the promotion, interpretation, and implementation of the standards, using rigid standards to solidify China's global competitiveness in the photovoltaic industry, supporting the transformation of energy to green and low-carbon and the realization of the "dual carbon" goal.
