Meta Platforms (META.O) is developing a cloud infrastructure business plan aimed at selling the rights to use AI computing capabilities and models in order to compete with industry leaders such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. According to sources, Meta has been acquiring expensive data centers and other infrastructure to support its own artificial intelligence development. One potential plan includes selling the rights to use various AI models hosted on Meta's existing AI infrastructure, similar to AWS's Bedrock service. Meta will operate data centers and chips that support these models, including their in-house developed Muse Spark model, and charge fees to developers for usage.
