Qinghai-Tibet Railway has transported a total of 1.04 billion passengers and 8.24 billion tons of cargo over the past 20 years.

According to China Railway Corporation, on July 1, 2026, the Qinghai-Tibet Railway will celebrate its 20th anniversary of full operation. The railway has transported a total of 104 million passengers and 824 million tons of goods, injecting strong momentum into the high-quality development of the economy and society of the snowy plateau, promoting ethnic unity and border stability, and enhancing the well-being of the people along the route.
