German police: Northern gun case may have been sparked by custody dispute

On the 29th, German police said that a deadly shooting incident at a rescue organization in northern Germany may have been triggered by a custody dispute. German media cited information provided by the police, stating that the main suspect in the shooting incident is a 45-year-old German of Turkish descent, accused of shooting and killing 6 people at a rescue organization in the northern German town of Stade, has now been taken into custody by the police. Prior to the incident, he had met with several of the victims to discuss custody of his three-month-old daughter. The police said that all the victims were employees of the rescue organization, with 5 people dying on the spot and 1 person dying after being taken to the hospital. According to eyewitnesses, after the shooting, a car attempted to leave the scene and was intercepted by the police. Two women are currently being questioned by the police, one of whom is the mother of the aforementioned infant, and the other is the driver.
