Around 1000 Norwegian oil service workers went on strike early Saturday morning as employers implemented previously announced upgrade measures expected to affect offshore drilling operations on the Norwegian continental shelf and impact some production. The strike is in response to ongoing strikes by several hundred members of the Safe union. The Norwegian Offshore Oil Industry Association said on Friday that affected companies include Schlumberger, Halliburton, Subsea 7, DOF Subsea, Weatherford, DeepOcean, and Baker Hughes.
