According to the financial news app, on June 26th, data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology showed that in the first five months, the telecommunications service revenue reached 735.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.9%. The total volume of telecommunications services calculated at constant prices from the previous year increased by 7.9% year-on-year. By the end of May, the three basic telecommunications companies had developed 2.98 billion mobile Internet of Things (IoT) terminal users, a net increase of 91.67 million from the end of the previous year. The number of Internet TV (IPTV, OTT) users reached 409 million households, a net increase of 1.243 million from the end of the previous year. By the end of May, the total number of 5G base stations reached 5.053 million, a net increase of 214,000 from the end of the previous year, accounting for 39% of the total number of mobile base stations, an increase of 0.3 percentage points compared to the previous four months.
