The spokesperson of the National Energy Administration and deputy director Wan Jinsong stated at the press conference of the State Council Information Office that during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, we will focus on three directions to accelerate the layout and construction of new energy infrastructure. The first direction is to accelerate the layout of energy infrastructure that promotes the development of new energy. We will optimize development methods, construct clean energy bases such as wind and solar power in the "Three North" regions, integrated water, wind, and solar energy in the Southwest, develop green electricity connections according to local conditions, build low-carbon and zero-carbon oil and gas fields, and promote the integrated development of new energy. At the same time, we will enhance the access and absorption capacity of new energy, accelerate the construction of a new type of power grid that is safe, reliable, green, low-carbon, resilient, and intelligent, and promote the growth of source storage and regulation capacity by more than 40%. The second direction is to accelerate the layout of energy infrastructure driven by new technologies and models. These infrastructures include renewable energy hydrogen production, green fuels, charging facilities, comprehensive utilization of nuclear energy, virtual power plants, and integrated energy stations. The third direction is to accelerate the intelligent transformation of traditional energy infrastructure.
