South Korea postpones weekly single stock options plan
South Korea has postponed the weekly stock option plan that was originally scheduled to be launched on June 29, covering stocks such as SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics. This move once again indicates that regulatory authorities are concerned about the market following severe stock market volatility. A representative from the Korea Exchange stated that "no decision has been made yet." Previously, South Korea's financial regulatory agency expressed regret over the introduction of single-stock leveraged ETFs last month and warned that their negative side effects have worsened.
