On June 24th, at the 2026 APEC Small and Medium Enterprises Business Forum held in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, Gao Dongsheng, Chief Economist of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated that there is a need to deepen open cooperation, rely on the APEC platform to promote policy connectivity, standard integration, and project co-construction among member economies. This will allow small and medium-sized enterprises to share the benefits of open cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, deeply participate, and support the construction of the Asia-Pacific community. Gao Dongsheng also mentioned that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology adheres to both service and management, development and support, and focuses on building mechanisms to promote the development of small and medium-sized enterprises with particular expertise and characteristics, in order to drive high-quality development of these enterprises. Looking to the future, it is important to adhere to innovation-driven development, fully leverage the advantages of small and medium-sized enterprises in adapting to the market, and cultivate high-quality small and medium-sized enterprises in a graded manner. Furthermore, it is necessary to deepen empowerment through digitalization, rely on the national small and medium-sized enterprise service "network," and achieve precise and efficient matching of service resources.
