According to the Zhitong Finance APP, on June 24th, the National Energy Administration released data on the national electric vehicle charging facilities in May 2026. According to the data from the National Charging Facility Monitoring Service Platform, as of the end of May 2026, the total number of electric vehicle charging infrastructure (piles) in China reached 22.497 million, an increase of 44.9% year-on-year. Among them, there were 4.951 million public charging facilities (piles), a year-on-year increase of 25.9%, with a total rated power of 242 million kilowatts and an average power of approximately 48.89 kilowatts per pile; there were 17.546 million private charging facilities (piles), a year-on-year increase of 51.4%, and the installed electricity capacity for private charging facilities reached 151 million kilovolt-amperes.
