Chongqing has initiated a city-level flood prevention level three emergency response for 24 districts and counties.
On June 16th, the Chongqing Meteorological Disaster Prevention Special Committee issued a "Special Report on Important Meteorological Information" with a Level III heavy rain warning. It is expected that from the evening of the 17th to the night of the 18th, there will be heavy to torrential rain in the western and northeastern parts of our city, with locally heavy rain and hourly rainfall of up to 100 millimeters. North Beibei District, Hechuan District, Wanzhou District, Kaizhou District, Yunyang County, Fengjie County, and other 25 districts and counties have a high or relatively high risk of rainstorm disasters. The Chongqing Water Resources Bureau and the Chongqing Meteorological Bureau jointly issued "Risk Prompts for Rising Water in Medium and Small Rivers" and "Risk Prompts for Mountain Flood Disasters in Small Basins", with 25 districts and counties at high or relatively high risk of rising water and 10 districts and counties at high or relatively high risk of mountain floods. The City Drainage and Flood Control Special Committee issued a "City Waterlogging Risk Alert", and issued a urban waterlogging risk alert for 32 districts and counties. After consultation and judgment, this rain process covers the entire area of Chongqing, and has uncertainties, with some areas experiencing heavy accumulative rainfall and locally extreme rainfall intensity. According to the "Chongqing Flood and Drought Emergency Response Plan", the City Flood and Drought Control Headquarters decided to initiate a Level III emergency response for flood control at the municipal level at 11:00 am on June 17th for 24 districts and counties including Liangjiang New District, Beibei District, Hechuan District, Yuzhong District, Dadukou District, Shapingba District, Jiulongpo District, Nan'an District, Banan District, Chongqing High-tech Zone in the Western Science City, Tongliang District, Dazu District, Yongchuan District, Bishan District, Jiangjin District, Qijiang District, Changshou District, Dianjiang County, Wanzhou District, Yunyang County, Fengjie County, Wushan County, Youyang Autonomous County, and Xiushan Autonomous County, and initiated a Level IV emergency response for flood control at the municipal level for the remaining 15 districts and counties in the city.
