Qinghai-Tibet Railway Lhasa West Station Freight Yard: Total inbound and outbound volume of goods exceeded 1 billion tons in 20 years.
The Lhasa West Station railway freight yard in Naiqiong Street, Duilongdeqing District, Lhasa City, Tibet is the largest railway freight handling station on the Tibet section of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. The volume of goods handled has increased from 329,000 tons when it opened in 2006 to 6,429,000 tons by 2025, with the types of goods expanding from just over 10 at the beginning to now include more than 50 categories such as building materials, automobiles, groceries, and general merchandise. As of April 2026, the total volume of goods handled at this freight yard has exceeded 100 million tons.
