Sam's Club Chief Procurement Officer Zhang Qing has submitted his resignation.
Walmart China has confirmed that Zhang Qing, Chief Purchasing Officer of Sam's Club, has submitted her resignation to the company for personal reasons and will officially leave at the end of June 2026. Walmart China further stated, "We sincerely thank her for her outstanding contribution to the Sam's Club business during her tenure and wish her all the best in the future. We are actively looking for a successor on a global scale. During the transition period, Neil Maffey will serve as Acting Chief Purchasing Officer of Sam's Club. Neil previously served as Chief Purchasing Officer of Sam's Club from 2013 to 2017, and has been a full-time consultant for the company since then. During his tenure, he led the transformation of Sam's Club's category structure and the development of differentiated products, driving the rapid development of Sam's Club's business in China. Leveraging Sam's Club's mature and stable specialized procurement system and standardized product development strategy, Neil will lead the purchasing team to continue to deepen product offerings, steadily advance established business plans, and continuously create differentiated high-quality products and services for members."
