Germany has stated that it will not accept the acquisition offer from Yuexin Bank for Deutsche Bank, and expressed support for the latter to remain independent due to its important role in the national economy. The German Ministry of Finance issued a statement on Tuesday, saying that accepting the acquisition offer "is not a feasible option from a financial perspective, as it does not include a reasonable premium". The German Ministry of Finance manages over 12% of shares in Deutsche Bank. The statement also pointed out that the government supports the independence of Deutsche Bank and opposes Yuexin Bank's "aggressive approach". The statement stated that Deutsche Bank "plays an important role in providing financing for the German economy", and the jobs it provides are crucial for the headquarters in Frankfurt. "Both of these aspects must be protected in the future."
