The Central Meteorological Observatory issued an orange alert for heavy rain at 10:00 am on June 15th.
Since June 13, heavy to severe rainstorms have successively occurred in the central and eastern parts of Guangxi, the central and northern parts of Guangdong, and the eastern parts of Guangdong, with some areas experiencing extremely heavy rainfall. The total precipitation ranges from 100 to 300 millimeters, with some areas receiving over 600 millimeters. It is expected that there will be heavy rainfall in some of the above-mentioned areas from June 15 to 16. From 14:00 on June 15 to 14:00 on June 16, there will be heavy to severe rainstorms in parts of southern and central Guangdong, the southeast and northwest parts of Guangxi, the southeast part of Fujian, the western part of Taiwan, the southeast part of Yunnan, and the southwest part of Guizhou. Among them, there will be extremely heavy rainfall in coastal areas to the east of the Pearl River Estuary in Guangdong. In addition, there will be heavy to severe rainstorms in parts of the northern areas of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the western and northern parts of Liaoning, the central part of Jilin, and the southern part of Heilongjiang, with some areas experiencing severe convective weather such as short-term heavy rainfall and locally strong thunderstorm winds.
