The construction of the world's largest LNG carrier with a capacity of 271,000 cubic meters has begun.
Today, the world's largest 271,000 cubic meter large LNG carrier officially started construction at the Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding Co., Ltd under China State Shipbuilding Corporation. The key performance of the vessel has been completely upgraded, and it is scheduled for delivery in 2028. The 271,000 cubic meter LNG carrier under construction has a total length of 344 meters, equipped with the latest domestically-produced membrane containment system. The key performance in cargo capacity, energy saving, environmental protection, and navigation safety has been comprehensively upgraded. Compared with the mainstream 174,000 cubic meter traditional LNG carriers on the market, the cargo capacity of the vessel has increased by 57%, making it one of the top performers in the industry.
